Private Institute of Screen Arts was founded in 2007.
The Institute is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Ukraine for the training of specialists in art education: acting, drama, film and television directing, cinematography and screenwriting, organization of film production.
The embodiment of the concept of creating a new generation of educational institutions with the latest views and approaches to training was born in the walls of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine under the renowned film director and teacher, Doctor of Arts, Professor VolodymyrGorpenko and Candidate of Arts, Professor Vasyl Nevolov. Over time, the founders were joined by a group interested in this idea: known in cinema and theater circles, figures, experienced educators: Honored Art Worker of Ukraine Anelia Obertynska, People's Artist of Ukraine, Renowned film directorOleg Fialko, experienced radio journalist and composer, People's Artist of Ukraine Mykola Edomakha, renowed composer, People's Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Guba, theater teacher and film expert Vadym Chubasov and other prominent figures of theater and cinema.
The painstaking work, inspired by his idea of creating a powerful environment for the creative personality and the atmosphere of dreaming, taking into account the needs of time and world experience, inspired the leaders to further develop the university. By design, the classes were conducted in the form of creative freedom, constant "travel to the unknown known" and experiments by prominent figures of theatrical and cinematic arts: People's Artist of Ukraine, Ukrainian Theater legend Halyna Yablonska, People's Artist of Ukraine Valerii Franchyuk, Volodymyr Kolomiets , Antoniia Tsvid, Borys Oliynyk. The tradition remains to this day.
Since September 2017, the Institute has undergone a major reorganization aimed at ensuring the right of Ukrainian citizens to receive high-quality higher education. The composition of the founders of the institution was changed, a powerful scientific and pedagogical staff was selected. Masters of the courses are Shevchenko Prize winners, People's and Honored Artists of Ukraine, Honored Artists, Doctors and Candidates of Sciences: Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine, Professor Herman Arkhypov, People's Artist of Ukraine, ProfessorVolodymyr Guba, People's Artist of Ukraine, Candidate of Art Scince, ProfessorVasyl Nevolov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Svitlana Kravchenko, Candidate of Art Scince, lecturer Tatiana Kravchenko, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Uliana Koshetar, Candidate of Art Science Eugenia Moreva, Candidate of economic science Hok Md. Mominul, also famous figures of cinematography–Dmitriy Sitnikov, Mikhail Budilov, Sergey Iushin, Andriy Maslov-Lysychkin, Eugenia Minyailo, Irina Maslova-Lysychkina and others.
The Institute of Screen Arts has a powerful material and technical base, the premises are equipped with modern technology, choreographic classes and halls, where the skills of the actor and the stage language are held, a cinema, updated scientific and methodological support, a library fund.
For realization of creative plans, projects, as well as organization of practice of students of the institute, the administration cooperates with profile higher education institutions, cultural and art institutions, leading cinema and television companies (O.Dovzhenko National Film Studio, Kyiv Academic Theater Institute of Culture, "Golden Gate" LLC"Telesvit", PI Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine).
For two years the team dreamed of opening a new format at the Student Theater Institute.On 18 of December 2019 y. this dream came true with the support of Yuliya Lavrinenko Rector of the Institute, the initiative of Honored Arts Worker of Ukraine, director, producer of theatrical performances and films of Arkhipov Herman Borisovich, and the desire of students to be part of the art world.
The first swallow of Students Theatre «ISA» became tragicomedy forone action «Advance» based on P. De Filippo's play "Don Rafaello - trombone player."The main role in the performance was played by a professional actor of theater and cinema, assistant producer, graduate of the Institute of Screen Arts Yevtushenko Vyacheslav.
Nowdays PHEI «Institute of Screen Art» is not only the society of talanted and interesting personalities, and also great atmosphere, professional freedom and innovational approaches to study process, needed for the development of future directors, actors, operators and producers.
